For the week starting 1/30/12, George Washington Bridge sorth walkway-bicycle path open weekdays and south side closed

Jan 29 2012 Published by under Uncategorized

For the week starting 1/30/12, the George Washington Bridge north side pedestrian walkway and bicycle path will be open daily Monday thru Friday and will close at night from 12am to 6am. It will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. The south side George Washington Bridge pedestrian walkway and bicycle path will be closed daily on Monday thru Friday. It will reopen daily on Saturday and Sunday and will close at night from 12am to 6am.

My understanding is that the George Washington Bridge north side pedestrian walkway and bicycle path has some 10 flights of stairs modified to allow bikes to be walked down instead of carried.

The Fort Washington Activity center is a small, stone building built into the steps near the tennis courts just before the George Washington Bridge, not far from the 181st Greeenway entrance / exit ramp.
